Is the service official and secure?

Yes. KfzPortal24 is an official partner of the Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) and uses the official i-Kfz interface of German registration authorities. All processes are legally recognised.

How long does it take to deregister?

The processing time depends on the deregistration selected, but is usually less than 24 hours for online deregistration. With the classic on-site deregistration, the car is usually deregistered within 5 working days of receiving the documents.

Is my vehicle deregistered after the deregistration confirmation?

If you have selected online deregistration, the Deutschland registration office may carry out a manual check in exceptional cases despite confirmation of deregistration. This will delay the deregistration by a few working days. Unfortunately, we have no influence on this and this is the sole responsibility of the responsible authority.

Can I use my license plates again after deregistration?

Cancellation of the license plates means they are no longer valid for the vehicle. Nevertheless, it is possible to re-register the same or a different vehicle with the same license plates. All you have to do is stick a new seal sticker over the old, invalidated one.

What can I do if the security codes are no longer legible?

We have developed several methods to make security codes legible again. You are welcome to send us a photo of the security codes before ordering so that we can tell you whether we can restore them. Just send them to support@kfzportal24.de.

How does the online car deregistration work?

Three simple steps explain how you can deregister your car online in only 3 minutes.

Step 1:

KFZ-Abmeldung lief einfach top. Mit Sicherheit weiter zu empfehlen. Obwohl der Code beschädigt war, konnte mir kfzPortal24 helfen. KFZ ohne weitere Probleme abgemeldet und dies super schnell. Auch mein Nummernschild konnte ich für eine gewisse Zeit weiter reservieren. Die Kosten für das Ermitteln des Codes und der Abmeldegebühr von 34.85€ sind zwar nicht günstig, aber ich habe den Weg zur Zulassungsstelle und den Ärger gespart.
